Depending on how you have your key layouts programmed, you may need to program specific keys to Backlight Brigher, and Backlight Dimmer. Some layouts in earlier versions didn't have these buttons, so it's possible your layout just doesn't have them programmed to keys.

Excellent. I'm glad that worked. 
I figured that might be the case, since that has happened to us in the past before we updated our default key layouts to have the backlight buttons.
